Zulu Graphics is successful solely because of its customers. Positive word of mouth and local recognition has proven to be a powerful marketing tool and stands as a public expression of the measure of our success. To maintain the high level of satisfaction, our desire has become focused on refining the services we offer. This has created a mutualistic relationship in which both our company and the customer experience the benefits of our refinements.

As a direct result of this relationship, we have explored ways to expand on our three key success factors – service, product and innovation.

Our service, whilst always polite, has become more efficient. There would be occasions where we would decide to continue printing to get a job out on time rather than take a phone call. After recognising this resulted in our current customers feeling ignored and allowed for the possible loss of new customers, we now endeavour to always answer the phone by the fourth ring. This slight change in our service procedure has been surprisingly successful, and, coupled with polite and informative phone conversation has definitely increased our success rate.

Our product is continually developing. Though we provide for a wide range of decoration options, screen printing in itself has developed over the past 22 years. For instance, where it was common practice to create transparencies by hand over many hours, now it is just as common to print films through a computer. Rather than remain common, we have built on this new technological foundation and ensured that we are utilising the latest software and hardware available in graphic design to create high quality transparencies. As such, we are able to supply our customers with a reliable, yet progressive product.

By providing a reliable product (for example, a screen printed t-shirt) with friendly and informative service (on the phone, in person and throughout email communication), Zulu Graphics has created the opportunity for innovation to bridge the distance between business and personal success. That is, as we have maintained a high level of success with our product and service, we have shifted our attention to being innovative in the industry and as such allowed for business and personal success to be symbiotic.

Our innovative venture this year has been our upgraded website. Last year zulugraphics.com.au proved its functionality. This year we have decided to broaden our perspective and create a website that is updated regularly and provides our customer with as much information as possible. In doing this we have overcome the challenge of distance; we have allowed for a person anywhere in Australia (or indeed, the world) to visit our website and be substantially informed about what we do without having to visit our showroom. We have also overcome the challenge of time. Our website is operationally twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. This provides an opportunity for those who can’t seek us out in business hours to browse at their own leisure.

Whilst it would traditionally to attribute our success simply to one of these three factors, we believe that our product, our service and our innovation work collaboratively to achieve it. Further, we would consider our customers satisfaction to be a better example of our success than our accounting statements.
